Yann LeCun

A French-American computer scientist known for developing convolutional neural networks, the architecture behind most modern image recognition systems, while working on handwriting recognition in the late 1980s and 1990s. He shared the 2018 Turing Award with Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio for their contributions to Deep learning, and has long argued that current large language model approaches are insufficient on their own to reach human-level AI.
