Large language model (LLM)
A type of AI model trained on vast amounts of text to predict and generate human-like language. LLMs such as those behind ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini are built on the transformer architecture and can write, summarise, translate, and answer questions, without possessing genuine understanding, reasoning, or awareness of what they produce.
