Narrow AI

AI systems designed to perform one specific task, or a limited set of related tasks, well, such as recommending videos, translating text, or generating images, as opposed to the general-purpose intelligence implied by artificial general intelligence. Every AI system in wide use today, including large language models, is a form of narrow AI, however broad its apparent range of abilities may seem. (See also: Artificial general intelligence)
