Deepfake

A synthetic image, audio clip, or video generated or altered by AI to convincingly depict a real person doing or saying something they did not do or say. Deepfakes are a growing concern for disinformation, fraud, and non-consensual imagery, and are a central reason why watermarking and provenance standards for AI content are being developed.
