Watermarking (AI content)
A technique for embedding a signal, visible or hidden, into AI-generated content so that it can later be identified as synthetic. Watermarking is one of several proposed provenance measures, alongside content credentials and metadata standards, intended to help people distinguish AI-generated material from authentic recordings, though current methods can often be removed or evaded.
