Jim Keller

An American silicon architect with an unusual record of arriving at companies before their strongest chips: the K7 and K8 at AMD, where he led the x86-64 instruction set work, the A4 and A5 at Apple, the Zen core on his return to AMD, and Tesla's self-driving chip. He is now chief executive of Tenstorrent, building RISC-V-based AI accelerators and licensing the designs, an explicit challenge to the closed, vertically integrated model of AI hardware.
