Algorithm

A set of step-by-step instructions or rules that a computer follows to complete a task or solve a problem. In everyday usage, "algorithm" is often used loosely to mean any automated system that ranks, recommends, or filters content, such as a social media feed. Not all algorithms involve AI or machine learning; many are simple, fixed rules. (See also: Machine learning)
