Open-weight model

An AI model whose trained parameters ("weights") are published for anyone to download, inspect, and run, as distinct from a fully "open-source" model, which would also require the training data and code to be public. Open-weight models such as Meta's Llama or Mistral's releases allow more transparency and local control than closed, API-only models, though "open" does not automatically mean fully auditable.
