- Cosmic — Headless CMS and API toolkit. Free personal plan for individual developers.
- Crystallize — Headless product information manager with e-commerce support and a GraphQL API. Free tier includes unlimited items on one project.
- DatoCMS — GraphQL-based headless CMS aimed at small sites, with a free tier covering a limited number of records and API calls.
- Hygraph — GraphQL-first headless CMS, formerly GraphCMS. Free tier for small projects.
- Prismic — Headless CMS with a hosted editing interface and API. The Community plan is free for one user.
- Sanity.io — Structured content platform with an open-source editing environment and a hosted real-time datastore. Generous free tier.
- Solo — Website generator from Mozilla that builds a small business site from a short description. Free.
- Squidex — Open-source, API- and GraphQL-first CMS built on event sourcing. Free tier for small projects.
- Storyblok — Headless CMS aimed at both developers and editors, working with any modern framework. Community plan is free.
- TinaCMS — Open-source, Git-backed headless CMS supporting Markdown, MDX and JSON. Successor to Forestry.io.

- Alwaysdata — General-purpose hosting with 1 GB of storage, supporting MySQL, PostgreSQL and a wide range of runtimes including Python, Node, Go, Elixir and .NET.
- Awardspace.com — Web hosting with PHP and MySQL, a free short domain and no adverts.
- boomurl — Publishes static files — HTML, Markdown, images, PDFs or a whole folder — to an HTTPS URL without a build step.
- Bubble — Visual builder for web and mobile applications without code. Free with Bubble branding on the result.
- dAppling Network — Decentralised hosting for Web3 front ends, focused on uptime and tamper resistance.
- DigitalOcean — Three static sites free on the App Platform starter tier.
- FreeFlarum — Community-funded hosting for Flarum forums, free for up to 250 users. A donation removes the watermark.
- Harvis.dev — Static hosting driven from the command line with no configuration or build step. Includes a subdomain, TLS and form handling.
- Koyeb — Serverless application platform. The free Hobby plan gives 550 compute hours a month on a 512 MB instance.
- MDB GO — Hosting for one project with 500 MB of memory and SFTP access. Containers expire after two weeks.

- Qoddi — Application platform in the mould of Heroku, with a free tier for small services.
- readthedocs.org — Documentation hosting with versioning and PDF export, free for open projects. Widely used for software manuals.
- render.com — Unified platform for sites and applications, with free TLS, a global CDN and automatic deploys from Git.
- Revdoku — Publishes files, reports and small sites directly from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude.
- ShipStatic — Static hosting designed to be driven by a command or an AI agent, with permanent free sites, HTTPS and unmetered bandwidth. Custom domains are paid.
- SourceForge — Long-running host for open-source project downloads and pages.
- surge.sh — Static publishing from the command line. Unlimited sites with custom domain support.
- tilda.cc — Visual website builder. Free tier covers one site of up to 50 pages and 50 MB, using a limited set of layout blocks.
- Vercel — Builds, deploys and hosts web applications with free TLS, a global CDN and a preview URL for every push. Strong fit for Next.js and static site generators.
- Versoly — Website builder aimed at software products. Unlimited sites, 70-plus blocks and custom CSS on the free plan.
Publishing tools
- Mintlify — Documentation platform for APIs, with hosted, componentised pages and a free tier for small projects.
- Publora — Publishing API that posts or schedules to ten social networks from a single call.
- TinyMCE — Rich text editor you embed in your own pages. Core features are free for unlimited use.
