Arthur Mensch

A French researcher and co-founder and chief executive of Mistral AI, launched in Paris in 2023 with Timothée Lacroix and Guillaume Lample. Previously at DeepMind, where he worked on the Chinchilla scaling results that reset the field's assumptions about the right balance of model size and training data, he has built Mistral around efficient models released with open weights, and the company has become the reference point for arguments about European technological sovereignty in AI.
