Stuart Russell

A British computer scientist and co-author, with Peter Norvig, of "Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach", one of the most widely used AI textbooks in the world. Russell's 2019 book "Human Compatible" argues for redesigning AI systems around provable uncertainty about human preferences, making him one of the field's most prominent voices on AI alignment and long-term AI safety.
